With the recent airstrikes carried out by Israeli air force at Gaza strip killing and injuring number of Palestinians, this year witnessed huge participation on Quds day across the world. On 31st May, 2019, in New Delhi thousands of people assembled at Jantar Mantar to protest against the tyrant Zionist regime. People hit the streets while chanting slogans and waving banners to condemn the unethical seizure of Palestinian land and killing of innocent civilians.  The protesters included elderly people, young men, women and even children of different age groups

For the last six decades, Palestinians have been abandoned with basic human rights by the Israeli Government. They have been enforced with strict restrictions on movement of people and goods into the Gaza strip. Time and again, they are being cut off from the access to food, electricity and medicines. Periodic air strikes and attacks over Gaza have killed thousands of Palestinians and left large number of people displaced. United States’ constant backing to Israel led to its undaunted terrorist operations in Gaza. Despite of Israel’s ruthlessly persistent oppression, media has maintained silence and has made deliberate attempts not to showcase pro-Palestinian voices.  However, The Islamic Republic of Iran has time and again voiced its support to the Palestine and strongly opposed Israel and United States of America.

The Supreme Leader of Iran; Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei has constantly urged all the Muslim nations to unitedly stand against the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. But Saudi Arabia; which has the support of the US, has always stood aloof and has never extended joint support to Palestine. However, Iran’s relentless efforts has made the event of Quds day a worldwide success.

People from all across the globe unanimously came together and took part in peaceful protests in their respective countries. With this, it is hoped that in near future, Palestinians would get justice and it’ll be liberated from the clutches of oppression.

Quds day is an annual event held on the last Friday of the Holy month of Ramadhan. It is commemorated to show solidarity for the rights and freedom of Palestinians against the illegal Zionist occupation of their land. This annual protest was advocated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in the year 1967 to make the world aware that Islam does not support any form of injustice or oppression.
