IRGC vows ‘destructive response’ to any aggression

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has pledged a “destructive response” to any act of aggression against the Islamic Republic, saying it is ready to confront the enemies on all fronts.

In a statement marking the Islamic Republic Day on Tuesday, the IRGC it was intent on strengthening its strategy of “active resistance,” while expanding Iran’s deterrent capacity.

“The decisive and destructive responses of the Islamic Revolution Front will be unbelievable and will not even give the enemies the opportunity to express their regret,” the IRGC said.

“Currently, the spirit, thought and discourse of this great miracle [the Islamic Revolution] have turned the lines of contact and influence of the Islamic Iran — even beyond the strategic West Asia region — into a nightmare for the American leaders, the Zionist regime and their wicked allies,” reads the statement.

The IRGC added the Islamic Republic has influenced humanity by promoting justice and the fight against arrogance, “particularly the dictatorial, terrorist and Zionist regime of the United States.”

The statement came on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of a historic referendum in 1979, in which 98 percent of the voters endorsed the establishment of the Islamic Republic following the fall of the US-backed Pahlavi regime.
