Saudi Arabia risks getting destroyed by beating on the drums of a possible war between Iran and the United States, Lebanese newspaper Al Akhbar has warned, accusing Saudi King Salman of acting as a “Trojan horse” for America and Israel.
In an article on Monday, the Lebanese newspaper said Salman’s callfor emergency meetings of the Arab League and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) showed how Riyadh had surrendered itself to Washington’s demands.
The Saudi ruler were taking the kingdom into a conflict that was designed by Israel and America to partition the Middle East and destroy it as it is, the paper said.
Al Akhbar further warned that the recent tensions in the region divided the countries into two groups, one made of countries who joined forces with Saudi Arabia, the US and Israel in confronting Iran and one with countries who risked Washington’s anger by opposing Trump.
It said the King will use the meeting not to discuss the so-called “deal of the century” for Palestine but to please America and Israel in a desperate move to save his crown.
The article added that Salman’s conduct would only bring forward the demise of Riyadh and its allies while forcing a heavy price upon Arab regime who have tied their economy and security to America’s will.
